Chicago Partners

As a student at the University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division or the Pritzker School of Medicine, you have a worldwide network of distinguished alumni who are ready and waiting to assist you throughout your education. Through the Medical & Biological Sciences Alumni Association, graduates from every walk of life - chief residents, researchers, practicing physicians, biotech company CEOs and more have volunteered their time to ensure that you have the best experience possible during your training on campus. Please see below for the three components of the Chicago Partners program, which you can utilize as a student.

Alumni Careers Network

The Alumni Careers Network gives you the chance to connect with over 14,000 alumni from around the globe who volunteer to help guide you as you make important career decisions. Using the convenient online database, you can access the contact information for graduates of the BSD and School of Medicine, in addition to alumni from across campus. These volunteers welcome your questions about their field of work and employer. If you can't find what you are looking for, please email the alumni office at alumni@bsd.uchicago.edu and they can help with an advanced search.

Day in the Life Experience

Through this program, you can shadow an alumnus/a in their professional life for 1 - 5 days, giving you a sneak peak at life after graduation. This unique opportunity is offered over Spring Break every year with options to visit alumni in the Chicagoland area and California.

Residency Interview Hosting

During your residency search, alumni can help to ease the financial burden of travel by hosting you in their homes. MD graduates across the nation have offered up their guest bedrooms and sofas, so keep in mind that you may not need to book that expensive hotel. In addition to having a place to stay, you will probably find it extremely beneficial to meet with an alumnus/a and learn about the community where you may end up living and practicing.
